The Royal British Legion

Veterans in Crisis Sunderland
Offering support for ex service men, women and their families.If you are a veteran and you’re registered with a Sunderland GP and need help (or you know of someone that is), we will be very pleased to hear from you. Our mission is to do everything we can to get veterans in crisis back on their feet, however long it takes. Also, you don’t need to be in crisis – all veterans are welcome.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans
Helps all serving and ex-service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.

Combat Stress
Services provided in the community, at specialist centres, on the phone, and online. Includes the UK"s only residential treatment for veterans with trauma-related mental health problems. Each veteran receives a personalised programme for their individual needs.

Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS)
Independent charity providing help and support to the armed forces community and other frontline staff whenever they are receiving medical treatment.
