Sunderland Cancer Information and Support Service offers support for anyone affected by cancer, this can be the person with a diagnosis, family member, friend, colleague or health professionals.

We support with all things non-clinical an example of what we offer is outlined below:

  • We have a range of booklets on; cancer, treatments, side effects of treatment, living with cancer
  • We provide emotional support 
  • Practical support 
  • Welfare benefits advice; supporting patients with financial support by ensuring they claim all benefits they are entitled to 
  • Complimentary therapies
  • Counselling services
  • Legal advice; access to legal support for will writing, employment issues, complex family issues 
  • Support for children affected by a family members cancer diagnosis or prognosis 
  • Bandanas for anyone who has hair loss due to cancer treatment 
  • Look good feel better sessions, group session to advise ladies how to look after their skin during cancer treatment 
  • Travel insurance advice
